Dr. Floyd is board certified by The American Academy of Family Physicians. He is a member of The Institute for Functional Medicine, the American Academy for Anti-Aging Medicine, and the Paleo Physicians Network. Dr. Floyd believes in "life-long learning" and continuing medical education, empowering his medical knowledge on a daily basis so he can share the most up to date information with his patients. He is currently working on becoming a certified Functional Medicine Physician and learning about Integrative Oncology. He has taken courses on bio-identical hormone replacement therapy and has begun instituting mesenchymal stem cell (MSC) therapy into his practice. Dr. Floyd has extensive training in Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Trauma Surgery, and Critical Care and has been working as a Hospitalist and Emergency Medicine Physician over the past six years, including holding the position of Medical Director for more than three years.
Dr. Floyd's interest in integrative medicine modalities began soon after enrolling at The University of Colorado, Boulder. With its progressive community, Boulder is a bastion of integrative and complementary medicine. It was there he first learned the power of acupuncture and herbal medicine to heal injuries sustained as a rock climbing guide. It was there he also began his early medical career, becoming an EMT and working as a professional ski patroller.
When not practicing medicine, Dr. Floyd enjoys riding dirt bikes, mountain biking, making music, skiing and snowmobiling, riding horses with his wife, and is on the path to a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
